License

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use WorkNook on Macs you own or control. Copies obtained through the Mac App Store are additionally governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement.

Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of the email address on it, for keeping the Apple or Google credentials you sign in with safe, and for activity that happens under it. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account; using WorkNook without one carries no such requirement.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data, and don't resell or redistribute the app or the service. Reverse engineering is not permitted except to the extent the law expressly allows it.

Your data

Everything you create in WorkNook — focus sets, session history, app lists — belongs to you. You grant us only the technical permission needed to store and sync it back to you. You can export your session history at any time, and you are responsible for keeping backups of data you cannot afford to lose.

Service availability

Cloud sync and account features depend on hosted infrastructure and may occasionally be interrupted. Features may evolve, and a feature may be changed or discontinued; if the service as a whole is ever wound down, reasonable notice will be given so you can export your data.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, branding, and name remain the property of the developer. These terms don't grant you any rights to them beyond the license above.

Third-party content

WorkNook's block-transition sounds are built from instrument recordings by the Freesound contributor hollandm, released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. That dedication waives copyright and asks for nothing in return, including attribution; the credit here is given because it is deserved rather than because it is owed. The recordings have been edited for the app — shortened, mixed down to mono, and matched in level — and one is assembled from several separate notes. The originals are at freesound.org/people/hollandm.

Disclaimer of warranties

WorkNook is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Focus scores and statistics are informational and come with no guarantee of accuracy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
